Well testing can be done quickly and accurately due to the small liquid volume and time required to establish equilibrium. Since the control system is fully automatic, there is little or no operator involvement in changing control schemes.

The system is a modern version of a traditional two-phase separator. Standard liquid flow metering, water cut and gas measurement are used throughout.

This Compact Cyclone Multiphase meter (CCM meter) has been developed by Kvaerner Process Systems a.s., utilizing a compact cyclone to separate liquid & gas. This patented technology provides for a simple control scheme and excellent removal of gas from the liquid.

Finite element analysis of well conditions and fluid parameters is performed to optimize the CCM's design. This provides assurance of the product's operational envelope at delivery.

CCM Informational Slides

An integrated control system has been designed by Phase Dynamics to simplify operation, improve operation and provide maximum reliability. Simple operator commands start, stop and display well test results.

The Compact Cyclone Multiphase meter (CCM) can be configured in various schemes. The configuration depends on the required measuring precision to meet the customer's specifications and the operational envelope of the process.

The separated liquid is routed through a full-range Phase Dynamics Microwave Water Cut Analyzer forming an integral part of the CCM. A customer preferred choice of liquid flow meter is used so that both the oil and water flow rates can be derived.

The separated gas is measured using a conventional gas meter (normally a v-cone differential pressure meter). Additional carry over liquid is removed from the gas stream in the gas scrubbing and polishing stages.
